History Symposium

Popping by to let you all know about the March Through History Symposium March 29, 2014.
This will be at the London Central Library.

On behalf of the Upper Canada Military Re-enactment Society and the organizing committee for the "Marching Through Time" Living History Symposium 2014, I would like to share this invitation to attend this unique, captivating, educational and enjoyable symposium. This symposium is a dual commemoration:  The bicentennial of the end of The War of 1812 and the centennial of the outbreak of World War 1. Attached, you will find the 'e-invite' that contains the information required to peruse the various symposia offered by 22 speakers, including our opening and closing Keynote Speakers:

Dr. Jane Errington: Keeping Hearth and Home During Peace and War: Women in Upper Canada 1791 to 1815. Professor of History at Queen’s University, and  Professor Emerita and former Dean of Arts at the Royal Military College of Canada, Dr. Errington is a prize-winning author and has spoken extensively on life in early Upper Canada

R.H. Thompson, C.M.: Hidden Stories and Lost Boys of World War 1.  Mr. Thompson spearheaded two unique war vigils that projected the names of each of the 3600 Canadians who died at Vimy Ridge, and the 68,000 Canadians who died in the First World War onto the National War Memorial in Ottawa.  The latter vigil also saw locations in the provincial capitals of Canada, as well as Canada House in Trafalgar Square, London, England. Mr. Thomson is a well-known Canadian film, television and stage actor, and an ardent supporter of Canada's Veterans.

On our website, http://www.historysymposium.com    you will find all the necessary details as to registration, symposium location and timing.  Advanced registration is the only way to guarantee admission and lunch.

Additionally, a formal dinner featuring period dancing and an evening concert by London's ‘Canadian Celtic Choir', will round out this fabulous day.

Cost is $65.00/pp for the symposium and $65.00/pp for the dinner/dance/concert.

We look forward to seeing you at this unique day, where we will honour the history of this wonderful country of ours.
